Greetings MAPL Raleigh and Battle of the Bros Teams,
We are looking forward to seeing you this weekend in Raleigh! This is a long email but please take the time to review all information below – it contains important tournament updates and event information. Event info can also be found on the Triangle Volleyball-MAPL Raleigh webpage HERE.
*Note: this email is being directed through AES to club directors, team representatives, and coaches. HOWEVER, if your tournament team roster is not updated, YOU are likely the ONLY PERSON RECEIVING THIS EMAIL. Make sure your rosters are complete and that you forward this email to all necessary parties.
Pools are Up!
First round pools have been released in AES. You can access them HERE.
The Black and Blue divisions of MAPL and the Battle of the Bros will be played exclusively at the Raleigh Convention Center, the Red division of MAPL will be played exclusively at Triangle Volleyball Club. Doors will open at both facilities at 7 AM. Don’t forget – Daylight Savings Time Begins on Sunday, March 11th at 2:00 AM – don’t forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hour!
Late rosters and changes will be accepted until March 9, 2018. Note however, delaying roster completion will mean emails containing tournament information will only be received by the club director listed in AES.
All coaches listed on a roster will receive wristbands for free entry into the tournament. Wristbands will only be given to coaching staff [maximum of 3] listed on rosters that are Impact Certified. Team Representative and Chaperones do NOT receive free wristbands.
NOTE: If you are a club director that is not listed on a roster, please email Logan S Barber at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add you to a VIP list to receive free tournament entry.
Team Check In
All teams must check-in prior to their first match at their designated playing location. RCC ONLY: Team coaches will receive a wristband for tournament entry, players do not require a wristband for entry into the tournament. TRIANGLE: No wristbands needed.
Raleigh Convention Center – Room 204 on the Mezzanine Level by Exhibit Hall B, 7-9 PM Friday, March 9 or 7 AM-3 PM on Saturday, March 10.
Triangle Volleyball Club – Saturday, March 10, Volleyshop desk, 7 AM-12 PM
There will be no spectator entry fee at Triangle Volleyball Club for the Red Division.
Raleigh Convention Center ONLY: Admission for spectators is $10 per day or $15 for a 2-day pass. Children under 6 years old are free. Tickets can be purchased on Friday, March 9 from 6-9 PM on the Mezzanine Level of the RCC by Exhibit Hall B or Saturday and Sunday beginning at 7 AM. There is no online advance option to purchase spectator tickets.
ALL TICKET SALES ARE CASH ONLY. There is an ATM located next to the Hall B entrance.
RCC: Event parking at the RCC is available throughout the downtown area for $7, no in-and-out privileges. If you are parking on the street, please be sure to check all street signs.
TRIANGLE: While sufficient parking exists at Triangle, the number of spaces directly in front of Triangle is limited. Signs will direct you to additional parking. Parking directly in front of or behind Triangle is monitored and many spaces are reserved by our adjacent neighbor who runs a 24-7 printing operation and must reserve spots for employees.
Facility Rules | Loaner Balls
Prohibited Items Raleigh Convention Center – Coolers, stadium chairs, large baggage, animals [service animals allowed], weapons, tobacco and e-cigarette products are not allowed inside or outside of the RCC [lobby, playing venue, sidewalks]. Team ‘camping’ is prohibited by RCC. Monopods only are allowed for filming [no tripods].
Prohibited Items Triangle Volleyball Club – No animals [service animals allowed], weapons, tobacco and e-cigarettes are allowed inside the facility. No coolers, stadium chairs or food tables allowed inside the facility, but these items may be set up outside. There is a designated ‘camping’ area at Triangle on court 7. Monopods only are allowed for filming [no tripods].
No ‘boom boxes’ or portable speakers are allowed to be used inside either facility unless they are connected to headphones. Warm up music broadcasted through a speaker or sound system is not allowed.
Loaner balls are available for teams traveling via plane, but must be reserved in advance. If you need a set please email Logan S Barber at email@example.com.
We enforce the Carolina Region/USAV spectator code of ethics and the Junior Personnel Code of Ethics. Improper conduct by athletes, spectators and/or coaches will not be tolerated.

Club Directors and/or Travel Coordinators – please take a moment to fill out our hotel survey HERE. We are trying to collect information on hotels in the area in order to bring you more competitive tournament rates during your time in Raleigh.
Coaches [club and collegiate] are welcome to visit the Raleigh Hospitality Suite at the Marriott City Center, Room 323 [connected to the RCC]. Open from 7AM-7PM on Saturday and 7AM-2PM on Sunday. Hospitality for coaches playing at Triangle will be provided in the classroom located next to the main entrance of the gym.
Recruiters from over 50 college programs will be in attendance at MAPL Raleigh. They will have access to recruiting information through University Athlete. Please make sure players have updated their UA accounts.

USA Volleyball High Performance Tryout
Junior Girls High Performance Tryout and HP Sitting Volleyball Tryout – Friday, March 9, 4-8 PM at the Raleigh Convention Center, Exhibit Hall C. For registration and more information visit USAvolleyball.org. Participants will not be allowed into Exhibit Hall C until 4:00 PM.
