Super-Volley Weekend

Queen City Classic, hosted in the heart of Charlotte, NC primarily features many teams across North and South Carolina. This two day tournament always falls on Super Bowl weekend, and NC Academy appropriately celebrated by competing themselves! 24 teams attended this event, excluding our Diamond teams who competed the week prior at MAPL. Our top 2 teams in each age group were challenged by competing in the Open division which featured many 1’s teams from other clubs in attendance. Competition was high, but as usual, Academy fared well!

 

The weekend started off Saturday morning with most of the 14 and under teams competing, while most 15 and older had afternoon wave. After a great day of competition 7 of our teams landed a spot in the Gold division to finish off the weekend. There were some tough fought battles throughout the weekend, but the team that shined the brightest was 16 Crystal who went 7-0 on the weekend and finished 1^st overall in Open! Great job to all teams who finished just in time to watch the big game.
